These terms apply to diamondboi.com, to consultations booked with us, and to every piece of jewellery we design and make for you. The studio is operated by The Diamond Studio Inc, doing business as diamondboi Designs, 366 Adelaide St E, Toronto, Ontario M5A 3X9, Canada ("diamondboi", "we", "us"). By using the website, booking an appointment or placing an order, you agree to these terms. If anything here is unclear, email concierge@diamondstudio.ca or text 647.972.7464 before you order.
1. Consultations and appointments
- Consultations are complimentary and carry no obligation to purchase. The studio is open by appointment only; walk-ins cannot be accommodated.
- Appointments can be booked online, by text or by email. Virtual consultations run on Eastern Time.
- We ask for at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Appointments missed without notice, or changed inside 48 hours, may be subject to a non-refundable $150 fee to rebook, because that time was reserved for you.
- Sizing, cleaning and repair visits are also by appointment.
2. Custom and made-to-order jewellery
- Every diamondboi piece is made to order. Nothing goes into production until you have approved the design and the price.
- Where a design requires a render, we will walk you through it. Renders are design aids; the finished piece is handmade and may differ in minor detail from a digital image.
- Production normally takes 4 to 6 weeks from the day your design and payment are confirmed, plus delivery time. Timelines are estimates, not guarantees. If you are working toward a proposal or wedding date, tell us at your consultation and we will plan around it.
- Changes requested after a design has been approved may change the price and the delivery date, and may not always be possible once work has begun.
- Handmade jewellery and natural gemstones vary slightly from piece to piece. Small variations in finish, colour and measurements are characteristics of handcrafted work, not defects.
3. Diamonds and materials
- Our standard for natural diamonds is E–F colour, VS2 clarity or better, Excellent cut for centre stones, with GIA certification. Our standard for lab-grown diamonds is D–E colour, VVS2 clarity or better, Excellent cut, with IGI certification. The grading report for your centre stone is supplied with your ring.
- Lab-grown diamonds are identified as such in your quote, your invoice and your grading report.
- We can set stones or re-work pieces that you supply. Because we did not source those stones, they are set at your risk: diamondboi is not responsible for pre-existing flaws, fractures or weaknesses that reveal themselves during setting, cleaning or repair, and we will tell you before starting if we think a stone is unsuitable.
4. Pricing and payment
- Prices are in Canadian dollars unless the website shows another currency for your location. Applicable taxes are added at checkout or on your invoice.
- Quotes are given in person or in writing during or after your consultation and reflect diamond and metal prices on that day. A quote is valid for 30 days unless we tell you otherwise.
- We accept cash, debit, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, e-transfer and financing through Affirm (subject to Affirm's approval and terms).
- Production begins once the design is approved and payment has been arranged. Finished pieces are released for delivery or pickup when the balance has been paid in full.
- If we discover a pricing or description error on the website, we may correct it or cancel the affected order and refund any amount paid for it.
5. Cancellations, returns and exchanges
- Because each piece is made specifically for you, all sales are final. We do not accept returns or offer refunds or exchanges on custom or made-to-order jewellery, including pieces ordered through the website.
- If you cancel an order after production has started, any deposit or payment made toward the piece is non-refundable.
- Our lifetime trade-up allowance lets you trade your original centre diamond at full credit toward a new diamond of the same type (natural for natural, lab-grown for lab-grown) that is at least 50% greater in value. Full details are in our Warranty Policy.
6. Warranty and care
- We guarantee your jewellery for life against defects in material or workmanship and will repair any such defect at no charge. Normal wear, accidental damage, loss or theft, and damage caused by misuse are not defects.
- Each piece includes one complimentary cleaning and one complimentary sizing (eternity bands excepted). Further cleanings and sizings are charged at our current rates.
- The warranty is void if the piece is worked on by anyone other than The Diamond Studio Inc.
- A 3-Year Extended Care & Protection plan is available at purchase; its coverage and exclusions are set out in our Warranty Policy.
7. Sizing
- Please confirm your ring size at your consultation or with our Ring Size Guide before approving a design. Some styles, including eternity bands and certain settings, cannot be resized or can only be adjusted within a limited range; we will tell you if this applies to your design.
8. Shipping, delivery and pickup
- Finished pieces are shipped by trackable, fully insured courier with a direct signature required on delivery, or can be collected in person at the Toronto studio by appointment.
- Shipping charges, where applicable, are shown at checkout or on your invoice. For deliveries outside Canada, any import duties, taxes or brokerage fees are the responsibility of the recipient.
- Risk of loss passes to you when the courier obtains a signature at the delivery address or when you collect your piece from the studio. Please inspect your piece on arrival and contact us within 48 hours if anything is wrong.
9. Website and content
- Product photography and renders are for illustration. Colour, scale and sparkle vary with screen settings and lighting.
- All designs, renders, photographs, text and the diamondboi name and mark belong to The Diamond Studio Inc and may not be copied or used to have jewellery made elsewhere without our written permission.
- Photos on our Love Story pages are shared with the permission of the couples pictured. If you appear in a photo and would like it removed, email concierge@diamondstudio.ca and we will take it down promptly.
10. Liability
- To the fullest extent permitted by the laws of Ontario, diamondboi's total liability for any claim relating to a piece of jewellery or a service is limited to the price you paid for that piece or service. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including missed proposal or wedding dates caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as courier delays or supplier shortages.
- Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under applicable consumer protection law that cannot be excluded.
11. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use your personal information, including the details you give us when booking a consultation or placing an order.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Ontario. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted on diamondboi.com at the time you book or order is the one that applies to you.
